DAfety Advisory Group Training CourseCourse Objectives

  • To create a recognised benchmark for all Safety Advisory Groups in the UK.
  • To create a learning mechanism for those new to the roles in a SAG.
  • To enhance the role of the SAG and promulgate best practice.
  • To ensure the continuity of the development of SAG members and introduce the concept of Continual Professional Development.
  • To ensure that measures that are legislated for Football Grounds do not make it impossible to run other sports grounds and that all sports/events are considered when planning for safety.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • To effectively develop, monitor and review a ground safety Certificate.
  • To be able to assess, report and act on risks identified in a sports ground.
  • To be able to create an audit trail of paperwork for monitoring the safety certificate.
  • To be able to assist the ground in identifying, planning and responding to emergencies.
  • To assist the ground safety management team to plan and run safe and controlled events.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 3rd, 4th & 5th April 2012

Duration

The course is delivered over three days. It is designed to be a residential programme with workshops in the evenings. All days of the programme must be completed. It is mapped against the NVQ level 4 in Spectator Safety Management.

Modules can be taken in any order, however one of the key benefits of this programme is the networking and support opportunities of the rest of the group. If you cannot complete one entire three-day programme this benefit maybe reduced substantially.

There are no formal requirements for this course. It is designed for anyone who is involved, or is about to be involved, in the safety management of a sports ground, arena or concert venue, for which Local Authority Certificatiopn may be applicable.
